TALLINN - The first special flight organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from Muscat airport in Oman to Tallinn is scheduled to depart on Thursday, and individuals who have registered on the 'Reisi Targalt' (Travel Smart) website will be notified directly.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been working around the clock to get Estonians home from the Middle East region. As of this morning, we have found a partner with whom we can start bringing Estonian citizens home on the first special flight," said Minister of Foreign Affairs Margus Tsahkna.

Individuals who have registered on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' 'Reisi Targalt' website, indicating their location as Oman or the United Arab Emirates, will receive further information about the trip by email. The cost of the flight is 400 euros per person, plus a transfer fee depending on the individual's location. The state will cover the rest of the special flight's costs.

The official partner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in organizing the special flight is Novatours, which will also handle ticket sales. Additionally, bus transfers are planned to take Estonian citizens to Muscat airport. Only those with a confirmed ticket for the special flight can book a seat on the bus.

"The first special flight has 180 seats, but a subsequent flight is already in the works. Further information will be sent via email and SMS as soon as possible. We urge people who are unable to secure a ticket for the first flight not to travel to Muscat on their own without a confirmed flight ticket. The timing and location of the next special flight will depend on the security situation. We are doing everything we can to get people home from the region as quickly as possible," Tsahkna said.
