TALLINN - Ryanair is freezing the growth of its flights departing from Tallinn for the summer of 2026 in protest against what it deems to be excessively high fees at Tallinn Airport.

The decision means Ryanair will continue to operate its six existing routes from Tallinn this summer.

"While markets like Italy, Slovakia, and Sweden are reducing or abolishing aviation taxes, which has led to Ryanair's rapid growth in those countries, Estonia is moving in the opposite direction," Ryanair commented.

According to Ryanair, this damages Estonia's air connectivity and competitiveness,

redirects air traffic and tourism to lower-cost markets, and leaves Estonian consumers with fewer destinations and higher prices.

Ryanair affirmed its readiness to add new routes, seats, and investments in Tallinn if the Estonian government reverses these fee increases and adopts a strategy that promotes aviation growth. "Until then, flight capacity will be redirected to other EU countries that are actively supporting the recovery of air traffic," Ryanair noted.
