TALLINN – The Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday summoned the chargé d'affaires ad interim of the Russian Federation to hand over a note concerning the continuous disinformation campaign directed against Estonia and the Baltic states.
In the note, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Estonia strongly condemns the ongoing disinformation campaign by the Russian Federation against Estonia and the other Baltic states, and demands that the authorities of the Russian Federation immediately cease spreading falsehoods, making public threats, and engaging in provocations.
“We have repeatedly emphasized that Estonia has not allowed its territory or airspace to be used for attacks against targets in Russia,” said Foreign Minister Tsahkna. “Messages to the contrary are yet another piece of Russian propaganda that is untrue, and they know it.”
“A threat against one NATO country is a threat against all of NATO. We have also received a clear and unified message from Brussels that our allies have our back,” Tsahkna said.
Estonia and the other Baltic states have emphasized that the appearance of drones in our airspace is a direct consequence of Russia's illegal war of aggression against Ukraine, and that Ukraine has every right to defend itself and attack Russian military objects that fuel its war machine.
